Speaking for myself, I need music to help push me through tough training sessions. Whether it’s in the gym or out on a run, music puts me into “the zone", helps me keep pace, and elevates my mood on top of helping me improve my athletic performance. So of course, I need a solid pair of headphones or earphones that not only fits my daily exercise routine but also drowns out any distractions allowing me to push through and get more out of my workouts. After trying various brands, I fell in love with the Jabra Elite Active 65t earbuds in 2018 and haven’t looked back.

The Jabra Elite Active 65t totally wireless earbuds are relatively light and securely stay in my ears. They have a comfortable fit and stay in place as I’m moving during intense workouts or while running. The Jabra Elite Active 65t provide great sound and have good battery life (up to five hours on a single charge and up to 15 hours in total with the charging case). Furthermore, the IP56 rating makes the Jabra Elite Active 65t water- and sweat-proof and have a rubberized finish on both the earbuds and the charging case, which makes them less slippery when wet. I have completed several races in rainy conditions, including a half marathon, wearing the Jabra Elite Active 65t and they have lived up to expectations.

I also find them comfortable to wear through the day when I am not working out. The right earbud provides most of the functionality allowing you to play/pause music, answer phone calls, and even connect to voice assistants such as Alexa or Siri. The left earpiece has two controls for volume and tracks. Charging is done with the earbuds placed inside the hard case. The case has a 15-minute rapid charge for up to 1 hour of additional battery life per charge and is needed to update the earbuds with the latest firmware.

Some may be wondering why not upgrade to the newer Jabra Elite Active 75t, which have been redesigned with a slimmer look compared to the Jabra Elite Active 65t and includes active noise cancelling (ANC). The main problem with me is that they don’t stay in my ears. They’re fine for casual, non-active use, but when I’m running or doing an intense workout, they easily fall out of my ears. My other problem with the Jabra Elite Active 75t is that tactile controls are TOO sensitive. Sometimes when I would adjust an earbud to fit more snugly, I would inadvertently pause the music or skip to the next track. Again, this is my experience with the Jabra Elite Active 75t so your experience with them may be different.

When listening to music, audio books, or podcasts, people tend to run farther, bike longer and are less aware of their exertion often without realizing it. Finding the best pair of wireless earbuds that fit securely comes down to things like your individual needs and brand preferences. For me, the Jabra Elite Active 65t wireless earbuds are awesome.
